Photo Editing ' Before and After

Description

I'be been getting positive feedback on my photos lately, and I wanted to show you the whole process of planning, taking the photos and editing them!
If you're doing a shoot, try and ask a friend to help you out by taking the photos, you can ask someone that is well versed in the art of photography, if that's not an option...then how about a tripod? or books as a tripod?! I've used the last method too, sometimes you can't get what you want...obviously, but sometimes it works out fine (:

Here are some of my steps on cosplay photography:
A) Have an awesome photographer helping you out, mine is Kiwi (~Ninphh), she's amazing (/ * A * )/ ~
B) Plan your photoshoot, that means making rough drawings of the kind of photos you want to take, you can use the original manga, anime, comic or game you're cosplaying from as a reference / inspiration.
C) Location; choose a location that is suitable for your character and that fits well with the theme of the photography.
D) The camera you use can also help your photos look nice and professional, I use a Nikon D40 but Kiwi has her own camera, and it's much better than mine as well ;O;
E) Cosplay is the important part of the photoshoot nay? how about making sure that your cosplay is ironed, washed and that your wig looks all nice and well fit? Most of the times, unless your costume is supposed to look messy, it will make your photos look weird.
F) After you have your pictures taken, editing is the next step. Now this part is up to you, you can play with sharpness, colours and even actions, just make sure that it doesn't look too edited...if you know what I mean ~
A few things to correct in the editing step are colour, curves and image size; if your photo is 1200 x (...) don't submit such a huge image file to your gallery (unless you really want to), make it something smaller like 700 X (...) or 900 x (...) ~

aaaaaand...that's it! These are a few things I've learnt from being the daughter of a photographer, taking photography classes for three years and still loving it as a hobby.
I still have a lot to learn though ;O;
